Qwest on Squawkbox

Steven Davis, Senior Vice President of Policy and Law at Qwest was on CNBC Sqawkbox this morning bemoaning the Mega-Mergers. He stated that Qwest is the only RBOC that competes outside its region (true because it started as an LD company before it bought the last RBOC, US West). He stated that many CLECs count on AT&T and MCI assets to compete for business services. Also, he said that AT&T and MCI kept the RBOCs in check - without them prices will increase and innovation will wither. And finally he defended the accusations that Qwest was being self-serving and bitter about losing MCI.
