Time is ticking away for E-911 compliance - Nov. 28, 2005
With the compliance date fast approaching for VOIP Providers (all 1200 of them) to have Enhanced 911 in place (or stop offering service), some may be wondering where to go. Intrado is the big name in the industry, but there are others, like TSC, HBF, and Spatial Data. Also, isn't it funny that VOIP has to be E-911 compliant, while cellular providers have petition for 2 more years to be handset compliant??? (Of course, ILECs own the cellular companies - Cingular (BST & SBC), Sprint-Nextel, VZ, AllTel, and T-Mobile (DT).
