Telecomweb reports that "The Vermont Public Service Board has given its green light to the proposed $8.5 billion Verizon Communications/MCI merger transaction, making it the second state to do so this week; the action came late Tuesday shortly after the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio (PUCO) approved the Verizon/MCI ownership transfer application (Telecom Policy Report, Nov. 30)."
