Nothing But Price Increases

In a glaring statistic, net 200K subscribers cut the TV cord last quarter! Even as the 2 RBOC's cut deals for triple play on their really expensive and hardly used FTTx systems.

But the big news is all the price increases at Ma Bell. Not just the big raise in Metro Ethernet rates in the Southeast but more:

Effective September 4, 2011, the monthly recurring charge for Business Access Line and trunks will increase in Tennessee. The rate increases only affect customers who are paying on a month-to-month basis.

The Southeast region Legacy BSLD MTS (default) rates are changing on October 1, 2011. Legacy B customers that do not subscribe to an optional domestic price plan may be affected by a change to the MTS rates. The current Peak/Off-Peak rate structure of the MTS plan is being eliminated and the current Peak rate will apply 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.

Effective August 15, 2011, the rates for some Analog Private Line elements in Connecticut will increase approximately 20%.

Effective September 1, 2011, the month-to-month rates for the following DS1 & DS3 elements will increase in Illinois, Indiana, Ohio and Wisconsin: Local Distribution Channel / Channel Termination, Channel Mileage, and Channel Mileage Termination. This rate increase only impacts DS1 & DS3 service billed in Midwest ACIS.

Effective September 1, 2011, the month-to-month rates for some Analog Private Line elements will increase in Florida, Georgia and Tennessee. Florida's and Georgia's rates will increase approximately 20% and Tennessee's rates will increase approximately 10%

That's a lot of increases.
